The Manchester 24:7 Theatre Festival kicks off today with an array of fantastic productions on offer. TDS will be highlighting some of those productions all of this week.

James Jowett and Adam Davies have turned their real life experience into a wacky tale for 24:7 Theatre Festival. After beating off stiff competition from over 120 plays, the comedy duo present ‘Working Title' to the 24:7 stage.

The story revolves around Will and Anthony and their quest to write a play for a theatre festival (sound familiar?). As they struggle for ideas, their friendship is tested to the max whilst they are distracted by a pushing producer and a trio of Spanish ninja's.

Writing lets the pair enjoy comedy but most importantly, create their own opportunities.

24:7 is letting the duo reach out to a larger audience and giving them a platform to get their work recognised. Their ultimate goal is to branch out into radio and TV. Writing lets the pair enjoy comedy but most importantly, create their own opportunities.

‘Working Title' started its life as a short film which was extended especially for 24:7. Based on their real life struggles and frustrations as writers.

The cast is made up of mainly drama graduates from The Arden School which fits with the festivals aims of nurturing young talent in making breaks in the theatre industry.

Adam explains: “24:7 simply stands for original writing, something genuine that doesn't have to be compromised or watered down. It's so important to have an outlet like this, where new writers get the opportunity to establish their own voice and identity.”

The pair have already begun working on a pilot for a sitcom. They aim to take full advantage of the 24:7 spotlight and strike whilst the iron is hot in getting their names around town.
