Cattrall goes Cleopatra

Kim Cattrall is set to return to the city of her birth to star as Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra at the Liverpool Everyman. The show will run for a limited season from 14 October to 13 November. Antony will be played by Jeffrey Kissoon and the production will be directed by Janet Suzman.

Cattrall, who is finishing a sold-out run in Private Lives at the Vaudeville Theatre, was born in Liverpool and recalls going to the Everyman as a child with her aunt. Her family left Liverpool to move to Canada when she was a small child but she returned to visit family. She later returned to the UK to study at LAMDA before pursuing a successful career in the United States.

She seems to be having a good run at the moment with a role in Roman Polanski's latest film The Ghost as well as a string of good stage roles in London – not to mention the eagerly anticipated Sex and the City sequel. What will her next move be?
