Edinburgh Reviews: The Bunker Trilogy: Morgana, Agamemnon, Macbeth (C Nova)

The Bunker Trilogy: Morgana, Agamemnon, Macbeth, C Nova ✭✭✭✭

For those seeking detailed, imaginative theatre and an example of the creativity that the Fringe is capable of, look no further than Jethro Compton’s stunning trilogy of legends re-imagined within the confines of a WWI bunker. Compton’s productions do not seem to be hampered by the single, simple set or the miniscule cast of just 4, but rather they are enhanced by the constraints – through careful staging and terrific adaptations of the text, Compton creates a world outside the bunker, filled with life and characters. The world inside the bunker is just as intriguing and, when viewed as a whole, rather than as three parts, the wealth of these three distinct but intertwinned productions becomes evident.
