Mark Ravenhill and Marc Almond team up at Royal Court

The work-in-progress Rough Cut season at the Royal Court will see Ravenhill and composer Conor Mitchell work together on Ten Plagues, a new work based on eyewitness accounts from the 1665 Black Death, following one man's journey through a city in crisis.

Almond (pictured right) will perform the piece through a series of songs and will explore humanity's struggle with sickness and death, celebrating our capacity for survival.

The musical will be performed in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs on 25th April 2010.

Ravenhill has had a string of plays performed at the Royal Court, most notably Shopping and Fucking.

Almond has sold 30 million records throughout the world since the 80s. He is due to release a new album Variete later this year.
