BAFTA WINNER MCGOVEN CREATES NEW DAY TIME DRAMA
Multi BAFTA winner writer Jimmy McGovern has created a new day time drama starring John Simm, Corin Redgrave and Robert Glenister.
The series, Moving On, will air on BBC1. Five episodes have already been filmed, and all episodes are linked by the common theme of how to move on in life.
Liam Keelan, Controller of Daytime, and Executive Producer for the BBC, says the calibre of actors attracted to Moving On is brilliant news for BBC Daytime drama: “It’s very exciting to be able to announce the high profile cast that are going to be appearing in the next series of Moving On and will be something for our viewers to look forward to.”
He adds: “This cast reinforces the fact that Daytime drama on the BBC has a strong reputation and can attract well-known faces to be part of the programmes that we make.”
The cast for the remaining five episodes will be announced shortly, and the new series of Moving On is due to air later in 2010.
CORONATION STREET GETS ROYAL VISIT BY SOAP FAN
HRH the Duchess of Cornwall will visit the set of Coronation Street to celebrate the soap's 50th anniversary. Her Royal Highness follows the programme whenever she can, and will visit the Manchester studios as part of several north-west appointments that day.
After taking a look inside the world's most famous pub, Her Royal Highness will be presented with a bouquet by cast members, before observing a scene being filmed in the Rover's Return interior set based in Stage 1 at ITV Granada in Manchester, where the globally-renowned drama serial is produced.
Director of ITV, John Whiston, says: “We are very honoured to be graced by a visit from HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, it's the perfect beginning to our 50th anniversary year”.
R & B diva Javine (pictured right), already a big fan of Come Dine with Me, was really excited about appearing in the latest celebrity version alongside former newsreader Jan Leeming, undercover reporter Donal McIntyre and former Eastender Dave Spinx.
Javine injects some youthfulness into the proceedings with a fancy dress disco theme to complement some amazing old family recipes including a novel dessert of Fried Balls!
Celebrity Come Dine can be seen on Sunday 31st January at 8pm on Channel 4.
