Members of the Welsh choir of the moment, Only Men Aloud, will be wishing the Royal Welsh College a Happy 60th Birthday on 31 October 2009.
A year's worth of celebrations will culminate in an Open House day at the College, with an opportunity to go behind the scenes at Wales' National Conservatoire and Drama School.
The day will feature a range of activities including backstage, college and hard hat tours, music recitals, playback of radio dramas, stage combat demonstrations and acting master classes.
There will also be opportunities to wonder at giant paper sculptures, enjoy performances from your favourite musicals or take part in a studio recording session.
The Colleges 60th birthday year has seen many celebrations so far, including the start of our £22.5 million project to create landmark facilities
For the musicians amongst you, there'll be a change to play a Steinway Grand piano, try a brass instrument or bang some drums, while those looking to glam up could try on some of our amazing collection of costumes. Interactive workshops will allow you to create your own composition and there will be a special Department Six exhibition of original art from the Doctor Who series.
When you've done all that, you can rest your feet with a cup of tea and refreshments and enjoy the beauty of the Julian Bream Collection of paintings in our Weston Gallery.
The Colleges 60th birthday year has seen many celebrations so far, including the start of our £22.5 million project to create landmark facilities and transform the face of the North Road campus, the appointment of five International Chairs in Music (sponsored by the Jane Hodge Foundation) and the College becoming the first All-Steinway Conservatoire in the UK.
