The Drama Student today launched its Daily Online News. The website will deliver the latest news stories from drama schools and other training establishments from around the UK, as well as incorporating theatre & cultural highlights.
In addition to news, the website will feature special articles and interviews with industry professionals, blogs, competitions and regular reader offers.
With the rapid growth of interest in the magazine, we felt we needed to be dynamic with our online content
Editor Phil Matthews said it is essential to maintain a positive online presence. “When we launched the printed version of the magazine in January our aim was to create a publication that served the drama student community,” he said. “Our website operated very much as an information reference point, but with the rapid growth of interest in the magazine, we felt we needed to be dynamic with our online content.”
The Drama Student Magazine is published quarterly and the launch of online content will enable the team to maximise their output particularly when it is relevant. “Although we make every effort to include news items in the publication,” explains Matthews, “it is not always possible as a quarterly journal, mainly due to date specific material. We’re now in a position to cover many more news items as and when they happen. That allows us to better serve our active readers and is sure to attract many more.”
