The Drama Student…HOT off the press

The Drama Student Magazine began its journey into print this week. Editor Phil Matthews (pictured below left) took a trip to the printing factory to witness the birth of this exciting new journal. He says “It was just so amazing seeing the first few pages come off the press, I can’t quite believe we’re actually here.”

The Drama Student’s office opened in late September and work quickly began on creating a magazine dedicated to those seriously pursuing a career in theatre, television, film and radio, either behind the scenes or as actors. In those months, the publication has had the support of many leading industry professionals to help create a particularly niche magazine and Phil Matthews is gearing up for an exciting launch. “I’m so grateful to everyone for working so hard and to everyone who has supported us,” he says. “I’m absolutely thrilled with the first issue and it’s now time to spread the word. Tell all your friends, the journey begins here!”

The Drama Student begins its distribution on Friday 30 January. Thousands of complimentary copies are headed for schools, further education colleges, universities, drama schools, youth theatres and bookshops around the country. If you don’t want to miss out on your copy, it’s easy to subscribe online.
