The annual pilgrimage to Edinburgh’s cobbled streets has begun. Thousands of actors, companies, shows, comedians, singers, performance artists from all over the world are on planes and boats and trains heading to the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Fourthwall will be reviewing all month, so follow our Twitter feed @fourthwallmag and check the site regularly for reviews, round-ups and updates. In the meantime, here are our top ten tips of shows we want to see - in no particular order.

GARDENING FOR THE UNFULFILLED & ALIENATED. Undeb Theatre. Pleasance Courtyard Shed. 1st-25th August: 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm

The true meaning of intimate story-telling - Brad Birch’s bittersweet play is performed to only two audience members at any one time. Discover the lengths a man will go to for a beautiful garden in this play about obsession, death and horticulture … obviously.

An award winning interactive experience with YOU at the heart of it, You Once Said Yes explores the consequences of the decisions we make. Audience members are taken through the city and each face one-on-one encounters in order to, perhaps, learn something they didn’t already know about themselves.

Premiering at this year’s venue to be at, Summerhall, this interactive, fun show explores the terrifying, universal desire to win. Promising to be razor sharp and slightly dark, Gym Party might just unleash your competitive streak.

Coming from a successful Off-Broadway run, the UK premiere Road to Qatar tells the hysterical story of the adventures of two New York Jews commissioned to write a musical for the Emir of Qatar.
