Grandage final season to star Jude Law
Law is to team up once again with the Donmar for the Artistic Director’s final season.
Add a commentLaw collects his What's On Stage award for his leading role in the Donmar's HamletMichael Grandage announced in October that 2011 will be his final year as Artistic Director of London’s Donmar Warehouse, citing his desire to chase other directing projects.
Jude Law is among the actors signed up to celebrate his farewell season, leading a revival of Eugene O’Neill’s Anna Christie. His co-star will be another Donmar favourite Ruth Wilson. The production will run from early August, with Associate Director Rob Ashford directing.
Douglas Hodge will play the lead in Inadmissible Evidence by John Osborne. The production, which will open in October, will be directed by Associate Director Jamie Lloyd.
Grandage (pictured right) will of course direct the final production of the season, working with Eddie Redmayne who is set to take on the title role in Richard II.
Grandage was appointed Artistic Director in 2002 from Sam Mendes. He has made a monumental impact on the theatre, helping it achieve international status.
Although the industry have been speculating about who will fill those ‘grand’ shoes, no decision has been made as yet.
