Spring is finally upon us and we’re all looking for a reason to throw our winter coats to one side and head outdoors. With Saturday night television taking a backseat, a good night out at the theatre sounds hugely appealing.
One doesn’t always have to head to Drury Lane or Shaftesbury Avenue for an enjoyable evening of theatre however; in fact, there are many destinations around the world which we wouldn’t immediately think of for a theatre experience.
Take, for example, the world of casinos. As more and more people begin to turn to online alternatives like SpinPalace.com, these ‘bricks and mortar’ casinos are now choosing to extend their remit to outstanding theatre performances instead. Whether it’s China or the United States, check out these great casino shows around the world.
The Hippodrome - London
London’s West End might be the theatre destination of choice, but a trip over to The Hippodrome in Leicester Square offers a huge spectrum of shows, from burlesque performances to Amy Winehouse tribute acts. The Hippodrome specialises in cabaret and burlesque acts, but if you really want to feel like you’re in the City of Sin, be sure to check out the Elvis in Vegas act on 18th April.
The House of Dancing Water – Macau
Over in the only district in China to offer legalised gambling, Macau provides its own Vegas-esque haven, which is home to a number of world-famous hotel chains and casinos. Once you’re tired out from playing on the slots however, make sure you head over to the City of Dreams hotel, where you can enjoy The House of Dancing Water show. Created exclusively for the hotel, the show has been watched by more than 65 million visitors, and offers a purpose-built theatre with a stage pool that holds five Olympic sized swimming pools’ worth of water.
The Cirque du Soleil Love – Las Vegas
Fusing a classic theatre show with the music of the most famous band in history, The Cirque du Soleil: Love celebrates 50 years of The Beatles. The show has just enjoyed a successful run at Caesars Palace, but can now be found at the Mirage just a few doors down on the Vegas Strip. Running from now until May, the show uses master tapes from Abbey Road studios and brings their award-winning hits to life once again through awe-inspiring acrobatics.
