Actor Robert Lindsay returns to West End stage

The play originally premiered at the Chichester Festival in 2008 starring Lindsay and has now been renamed as Onassis, and will open at the Derby Theatre on 10th September 2010, before transferring to the West End.

Sherman's version focuses on Onassis' later life and the relationships with Jackie Kennedy and Maria Callas.

The production will be directed once again by Nancy Meckler. A West End venue will be confirmed in due course.

Lindsay, star of BBC's My Family, has won a string of awards for his stage work, including an Olivier and a Tony Award. He famously starred in John Osborne's The Entertainer at the Old Vic.
