One of the key services Equity provides for its members is insurance cover. This includes Public Liability, Accident and Backstage plus special schemes for fire artists, dancers and stunt artists. Student members were not included in this as the cover applied to members when they were working in the industry.
However, recently this has changed as part of the improvements the union has brought in to increase the cover for full members so that models are included for the first time. Now Equity student membership brings with it Public Liability insurance for up to £2million of cover.
