We’ve always thought Stephen Fry was God anyway

Actor and broadcaster Stephen Fry will return to the theatrical stage for a one off performance of Star Child at the Almeida Theatre on 5th December.

The production – which also stars Catherine Tate, Juliet Stevenson and Henry Goodman, among others – is a comedy retelling of the traditional Christmas story, featuring a talking donkey, an over-excited midwife, three wise women and a shepherd with an angel-obsession.

Fry steps into the shoes of a disgruntled God, who wakes in the nick of time to see the Earth facing disaster and a Herod who wages war on the world’s children.

The production is being staged in aid of The Art Room and also includes performances from Maggie Steed, Bill Paterson, Stephen Mangan, Natascha McElhone, Olivia Williams, and the Marquez brothers.

Tickets for the show cost £75 and are available from the Almeida theatre box office.
