Julie Walters is going head to head with herself in the Best Actress category at the BAFTA Television Awards. The actress has been nominated for roles in BBC1's A Short Stay in Switzerland and Channel 4's Mo. In both roles she received critical acclaim.

A Short Stay in Switzerland saw Walters take on the challenging role of Dr Anne Turner, who is diagnosed with a fatal neurological condition and decides to end her life herself in a Switzerland clinic. The emotional drama is based on a true story.

In the Channel 4 drama Mo, Walters plays another doctor with a terminal illness, Mo Mowlam. The film is a revealing biopic of the politician's life and how she dealt with her tumour whilst making clear advances in the Northern Ireland peace process.

The Best Actor category sees Kenneth Branagh nominated for BBC1's Wallander, and John Hurt who is nominated for An Englishman in New York for ITV1.

The awards will be hosted by Graham Norton at the London Palladium on Sunday 6th June.
